Abstract:
Measurements of the Cold Dark Matter (CDM) indicate that if Supersymmetry (SUSY) is a symmetry realized in nature, the lightest supersymmetric partner of the tau lepton (stau) might be one of the lightest SUSY particle producible at the LHC. The production rate for stau is enhanced in several SUSY scenarios, further increasing the chances for this particle to be observed at the LHC. The aim of this search is to search for the direct pair production of the stau lepton. It will be performed in the leptonic and hadronic decays of the tau, plus additional missing energy. This search will benefit from the expertise of the LIP CMS group in tau leptons.
