  • Abstract:

The current thesis aims to contribute to the development of an innovative 4D tracking detector to be installed in the ATLAS experiment at CERN. During the course of the thesis, the student will contribute to tests of the assembly procedure, monitoring, and testing of the cooling performance on a full-scale half-disk detector inside a clean room environment. Moreover, the student will be able to work on Low Gain Avalanche Detector (LGAD) sensor testing and front end ASIC board characterisation, and to participate in test-beam activities at the SPS facility of CERN. This work will involve assisting in the setup, calibration, data-taking and final data-analysis of test-beam activities.
