  • Abstract:

The detection of gravitational waves opened a new windown onto the universe and a tool to understand the most outrageous predictions of General Relativity. Gravitational waves are a powerful new probe of dynamical astrophysical phenomena such as collisions of black holes and compact objects like neutron stars, thus promising to turn gravity research into a data-driven field and potentially providing much needed insights about fundamental physics. The goal of the project will be to exploit the phenomenology and the full nonlinear dynamics of gravity theories by means of analytical and numerical analysis probing the spacetime geometry at extreme conditions in the cosmos.
